Background

Since 2013, Daniel Sarti, Owner and Managing Director, has sold more than 8,000 party, decoration and gift items on his ever-growing online shop CreaDIVA.ch. The Bottmingen-based company also has two retail shops, one in Basel and one in Bottmingen, where a large part of the online range is available and serves as a shop window for online retailing. Even though business is going well for Daniel Sarti’s CreaDIVA.ch, (online) retailing doesn’t stand still, which is why he began looking into digital marketplaces early on. It was the perfect time for Swiss Post’s Digital Commerce team to analyse the range’s potential and develop new opportunities.

Goals

In Daniel Sarti, Owner and Managing Director of Crearis GmbH, the Digital Commerce team were working with a partner who was already familiar with online retailing. Some of the key objectives of the project were to carry out a range analysis to clarify sales potential, to guarantee that product and order data is transmitted in as stable a manner as possible and to automate order data processing to ensure sustainable growth from the outset. Thanks to the excellent quality of the product data and images, a solid basis was laid for the project.

The online presence serves as a shop window for my two shops in Bottmingen and Basel. And the shops help create trust and proximity, which is beneficial for the online business. I was also involved in digital marketplaces at a very early stage, which is why I tried Galaxus twice – unfortunately, without any success. It was only with the help of the Digital Commerce consultants that things suddenly started happening very quickly, from the first kick-off meeting to the question of how the data should be transmitted and processed. Result

In less than two months after the first joint launch, CreaDIVA was offering its products on Galaxus, the most widely used marketplace in Switzerland. Initially active on the marketplace with a partial range, the categories were gradually expanded following the automation of the order data interface. Within the first hour of connecting to the marketplace, Crearis GmbH received so many additional orders that it was unable to process them manually.

(6) E-shop / marketplace: With the marketplace enabling service, we have made it easier for Crearis GmbH to gain access to the relevant marketplaces in Switzerland. Efficient onboarding was just as important as technical connectivity and product data transfer. Last but not least, automating the order data was also crucial – tasks in which Digital Commerce Consulting advised the Crearis GmbH team. Other marketplace connections are constantly being evaluated to create additional sales channels.
